John Winkley

John is an experienced business manager with a track record of business growth in UK education and technology businesses. He has specialised in developing services for standards, qualifications and assessment agencies in the UK and overseas, through the three companies he has helped to found and build over the last 15 years: BTL Group Ltd (www.btl.com), The Virtual College plc (www.virtual-college.co.uk) and his current business, AlphaPlus (www.alphaplusconsultancy.co.uk), which specialises in educational assessment. His recent export work includes projects in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the Caribbean. John has a BSC and MEng in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bath. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. He is also Chairman of an Academy Trust Chain in West Yorkshire.


Graham Hudson

Graham Hudson founded GA Partnership Ltd after a long and successful career in a variety of educational assessment roles. Through using his experience gained from the operation of national examination systems, and from developing the use of technology in assessments internationally, he now supports successful businesses in the sector in achieving key strategic objectives. Graham is a practitioner whose passion is to enable organisations deliver the best service that they can to their customers both technically and operationally, within budgetary and regulatory constraints. Having delivered high-risk, time critical programmes to mark and deliver results for all primary and secondary pupils across England for national testing, he is familiar with the pressures and conflicts that result from meeting sometimes competing demands from users, government officials and politicians. Graham has been an active participation in the international assessment community and has contributed many papers and presentations exploring how examination reliability can be improved through harnessing technologies. He was one of the early champions of electronic marking in the UK and gained sizeable government funding to explore how examination and testing effectiveness could be improved. His delivery experience extends from the Caribbean, to West Africa, South-East Asia and India. He now works in a consultancy role, advising awarding organisations in the UK and internationally. He is a Board member of the IoD Assessment Committee and the NEBOSH Qualifications Governance Council.

Janet Garcia is a business leader with a formidable track record of growing learning technology businesses across UK and Internationally. Janet was Managing Director of e-assessment, e-learning and talent measurement businesses Thirdforce, MindLeaders and Intuition prior to her current position as President for PSI’s International business. PSI, headquartered in the USA, have over 70 years’ experience providing worldwide testing solutions to corporations, government agencies, awarding bodies and educational institutions. PSI have a full solution offering from test development, delivery and results processing with a focus on flexibility and innovation. Janet is leading the rapid expansion of PSI across EMEA and globally, and is passionate about driving results for customers and improving assessment delivery to candidates across the world.
