The e-Assessment Awards Gala Dinner and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Statement as of 10th March 2020
COVID-19 is a developing and unfamiliar situation and we are following government guidance that it is ‘business as usual’ and, unless government advice changes, we have no plans to postpone or cancel the e-Assessment Question Conference or the Awards Gala Dinner.
Mindful of our duty of care, we are following the advice of experts from the Government and the events industry and we will do everything possible to keep the Conference, Awards and Gala Dinner as safe as possible.
The venue is taking measures with enhanced and more frequent cleaning of all areas, including door handles and banisters to ensure the venue is as clean as it can be for all clients. There are sanitisation stations around the venue and relevant signage reminding visitors of good hygiene practice.
Sadly, we have no control over the wider damage that hype and speculation may cause.
However, we can assure you that we will apply common sense, take the advice of the authorities, and plan to deliver you a great event.
The advice from NHS England to avoid catching and spreading coronavirus is:
wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
always wash your hands when you get home or into work
use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
